Join MPA for the NAMI-MN Walk - Satruday, September 26, 2020
Why Walk?
- The walk is an opportunity to speak out about the discrimination against mental illness. Mental illness touches all of our lives.
- NAMI-MN is an incredible partner with MPA in many legislative and advocacy endeavors. Let’s support a vital community resource for individuals and families grappling with mental illness.
How Can We Walk Given Social Distancing Restrictions?
This year we have to be a little creative. There are two ways you can participate in the walk:
- Walk Your Way
- Go to the NAMI-MN MPA team website at https://www.namiwalks.org/team/MPA and sign up and make a donation. Any amount is helpful. You can also solicit donations for NAMI-MN from family and friends.
- Send an email to [email protected] to let us know you plan to participate.
- An awesome MPA t-shirt and a NAMI-MN yard sign will be delivered to you.
- Take a picture of yourself with the t-shirt and sign and send it to [email protected]. We will make a montage to go on the NAMI-MN site and MPA’s homepage.
- Take a walk with friends or family on September 26, 2020.
- Meet-Greet-Walk With Colleagues
- We are challenging MPA Divisions to bring their members together for a socially distant gathering. (Meet at a park or on a walking trail, and then go for a walk).
- Complete the steps 1-4 above.
- Check in on you favorite listserv to see if/when/where to gather on September 26, 2020.
- Meet colleagues in a socially distant way and go for a walk. Please wear a mask and your t-shirt. You can bring your sign to carry or put it in your yard. Take pictures to share on the MPA homepage.
- The division with the most participants wins a special thank you on the webpage.
