This is despite consistent evidence that problematic personality traits are associated with psychopathology, and are a crucial, prospective, risk factor for ill-health and all-cause mortality. In his recently published book, “Applying Personality Informed Treatment Strategies to Clinical Practice: A Theoretical and Practical Guide'', author Dr. Bradley G. Rather, personality functioning needs to be factored into any thoughtful and comprehensive psychotherapeutic undertaking. The book introduces an innovative new strategy to clinical practice, Personality Informed (PI) therapy, which was developed to serve as a useful supplementary tool for virtually any therapeutic model. The program will introduce attendees to a new perspective on personality functioning as it pertains to maladaptive as well as adaptive thoughts, moods, and behavior. Personality change is addressed as a skill and strength building process. The program will introduce attendees how to utilize the Personality Wheel, which was designed as a diagrammatic categorical, as well as a dimensional schematization tool for conceptualizing and operationalizing personality traits.
