Multicultural Division Book Club

Date & time: Thursday, March 18 | 7:30 p.m. CT

Book: Between the World and Me, by Ta-Nehisi Coates

Please join us for a virtual book club hosted by the Multicultural Division. This book club is open to all MPA members and is free to attend. It will be held via Zoom.

We will be discussing Between the World and Me, by Ta-Nehisi Coates. This best-selling and National Book Award-winning 2015 novel was written by the author after the murder of a college friend by police after a case of mistaken identity.  It discusses the impacts of systemic racism on individuals and society. Everyone is welcome to the discussion, regardless of whether you have read the book completely, partially, or not even cracked it. All that is asked is an interest in the topic. Meeting participants have the high honor of being eligible to vote for what book we will read next. If you would like to subscribe to the MPA Book Club listserv, please email David at [email protected].

Questions? Feel free to email David Nathan at [email protected].

Please note: This is open to MPA members only. If you'd like to join MPA, please click here.

Zoom meeting details will be provided in your confirmation email once you register.
