Headway is actively seeking a motivated professional to ensure the successful coordination and execution of psychological services. The Training and Assessment Director serves as the administrator of our APA pre-doctoral internship program and is committed to educating interns and students to become successful members of the profession by furthering the development of their clinical skills, ethical principles and professional identity in preparation for generalists in applied psychological settings. You will provide dynamic and collaborative leadership in the coordination of Internships, Practicums, and our Testing Clinic. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring program and team member success by overseeing specific and global training needs and managing our testing inventory. You will create/maintain functional team environments by exercising both critical thinking and emotional intelligence. Your relationships with various stakeholders including the APA, higher educational institutions, Program supervisors, among others, includes quality, compliance, and coordination of service delivery with partners. OVERARCHING RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure compliance with APA & MPA standards
Establish and manage relationships with education institutions.
Execute multidisciplinary masters & doctoral practicum program.
Coordinate & execute effective assessment clinics
Assess & maintain testing inventory
Mediate, negotiate, and resolve issues arising from differences between policies/procedures, partners, and trainees.
Recruit & select qualified applicants

GENERAL TASKS RELATED TO OVERARCHING RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Ensure compliance with APA & MPA standards

  • Manage training, and weekly consultations & didactics of Interns
  • Maintain ongoing data on all InternsFacilitate training committee meetings
  • Communicate quarterly with APA regarding Internship
  • Evaluate Interns and Supervisors semi-annually
  • Maintain efficacy of Training Program according to APA standards

2. Establish and manage relationships with educational institutions

  • Communicate with Graduate program regarding Headway's Practicum Program
  • Communicate quarterly with Practicum's school
  • Manage training, and weekly consultations & didactics of Practicum students

3. Execute multidisciplinary masters & doctoral practicum program

  • Oversee global training needs of Masters' and Doctoral training needs
  • Evaluate practicum students' progress and quality
  • Maintain data on all practicum students

4. Coordinate & execute effective assessment clinics

  • Receive internal and external testing referrals and connect as necessary to therapist
  • Communicate as necessary with testing referents
  • Assure appropriate testing is completed
  • Manage testing and payment connection
  • Communicate on an ongoing basis with Billing Dept on all testing cases
  • Ensure test are appropriately proctored

5. Assess and maintain testing inventory

  • Keep inventory of tests and order accordingly
  • Keep abreast of test versioning and update as necessary

6. Mediate, negotiate, and resolve issues arising from differences between policies/procedures, partners, and trainees

  • Maintain communication with Program Supervisor to preempt any issues and ensure effective collaboration.
  • Mediate between Interns and Supervisors
  • Mediate and resolve practicum supervisor issues

7. Recruit & select qualified applicants

  • Coordinate and execute annual application, interview, and selection process for Interns and Practicum students
  • Communicate with prospective Interns and Students interested in Headway's programs
  • Select interns and students appropriate for the needs of Headway

8. Other tasks as necessary to meet/exceed the mission of the organization and the role

  • Complete testing cases as needed
  • Maintain 25% caseload
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Licensed or license eligible in Minnesota, doctoral clinical psychologist
Experience working with an internship training group
3+ years' clinical experience
Competency in psychological testing
Experience building community relationships
Preferred but not required
2+ years program supervision and management experience
1+ years' experience developing community partnerships
1+ years program development experience
1+ years Department of Human Service compliance experience
Proven ability to increase client outcomes Board-approved to provide clinical supervision
Must have own car for work
Ability to collaborate and utilize the skills of program team and other team members
Ability to work in a fast paced, sometimes demanding environment.Ability to think on your feet during a crisis
Experience as a Director of Training
5+ years' clinical experience
5+ years' of clinical testing experience with children and adults
2+ years' clinical supervision experience
