This President’s Conference will illuminate the nature of cultural influences on mental health. The pre-conference workshop, scheduled 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. on Saturday, November 9 at the University of Minnesota, will feature Martha Aby, MSW, MBA. Ms. Aby works in the children’s mental health division at the Minnesota Department of Human Services and trains others on the new outpatient services rule requiring cultural assessment in mental health. At the pre-conference workshop, you will gain hands-on training and 3 continuing education hours focused on diagnosing and utilizing cultural influences on mental health.

The full conference, scheduled from 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. on Monday, November 11 at St. Thomas in downtown Minneapolis, will feature Jessica Henderson Daniel, Ph.D., an Associate Professor of Psychology in the Department of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Daniel is a 2014 candidate for President-Elect of the American Psychological Association (APA) and an expert in multicultural psychology. Come hear Dr. Daniel speak and gain 6 continuing education hours that advance your understanding of race, ethnicity, and individual differences in counseling and therapy.
